"A Futile Passion" exhibition at Beyoğlu Municipality

The opening of the exhibition "A Futile Passion" took place at the 6th Circle Art Gallery, coordinated by the Beyoğlu Municipality. Curated by Burçe Saraçoğlu, "A Futile Passion" will run from October 16-31, 2025. Drawing on the philosophical approach of Albert Camus and the story of Sisyphus, a character from Greek mythology, the exhibition questions the human capacity to resist the meaninglessness of life.

Speaking at the exhibition opening, Deputy Mayor Sefer Karaahmetoğlu said, "I am delighted to be with you at the 6th Circle Art Gallery, the beating heart of Beyoğlu. Every street in our ancient city holds a story, every corner a message. Beyoğlu has been at the intersection of civilizations and cultures for centuries. As the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and the Beyoğlu Municipality, our mission is to keep art and culture alive in every corner of this city. As the Beyoğlu Municipality, we have always stood by artists and art. We strive to ensure that all Beyoğlu residents have access to art. The exhibition "A Futile Passion" that we are opening here today carries a profound meaning. Its meaning is resistance and the determination to exist despite all the difficulties of life. The works of ten esteemed artists from different artistic disciplines will reveal the different faces of this resistance."
